Change is in the air. It seems everyone is talking and looking for change. Change in leadership, change in the economy and change in temperture. It is safe to say change is a word that expresses a desire for relief. The seasonal change to fall is always a welcome relief from the excessive summer heat. Hopefully it also reminds you to have your furnace inspected for the colder weather ahead.
Doom and gloom can be found in many messages today making it difficult to embrace unexpected changes. It is not easy finding relief from the negativity of an expense that we haven't budgeted for. Homeowners never plan for their heater or airconditioner to fail. With the recent industry SEER ratings changing to 13 and the impending move to 410A refrigerant, sticker shock sets in for many folks.
A reputable dealer will do more than sell you equipment. Being informed to make the best decision is more important today than ever. When being faced with the issue of repairing or replacing, always weigh your options. Are there rebates available for higher quality equipment? What if I evaluate the duct work at the same time, will my rebates be even greater? Will an upgrade now give me increased efficiency, improved performance and equipment longevity? Is there a low interest finance program that can make it worthwhile to upgrade? If I decide on a partial replacement can I complete the upgrade at a later time with what I choose now or will I spend even more later for additional work? Always know and understand the warranty of the equipment you choose and have confidence the dealer will still be around six months from now should you have a problem.
Cheapest is not always the best deal. Be sure you know what is being left out to get to that low price and if it is worth it in the long run. We all know the old adage “you get what you pay for” is true. With your hard earned dollar being more and more difficult to part with, be sure you get every penny's worth!
The holidays are around the corner, remember to have your furnace serviced, stay safe and enjoy the many blessings of the season.
