Everyone is talking “green.” Is it just me, or is anyone else getting tired of hearing it? I have been swept up in the wave as much as the next person. I even dreamed of creating a little green super hero with the County Wide logo blazed into his spandex suit,”Captain Green”. I usually come to my senses, as I did this time, and thought about what Richard's advice would be on the green phenomena. For those of you who may not know, Richard founded this company over 49 years ago, was a tremendous mentor to me and many others. He lost a courageous battle with Parkinson's this January and I miss him and his wisdom greatly. I can envision that grin and the chuckle and with a glint in his eye would say something like, “What does all that mean to the customer? What benefit will they get out of it?” I then realized that County Wide embraces everything “green” and has for countless years. The patented swooshy stripe on the trucks symbolizes the environment and the earth and for that very reason Richard made it vibrant green. The bright blue represents pure air and water. We recover refrigerant to protect our community's air, we encourage folks to convert to 410A refrigerant, replace inferior ductwork and install higher efficiency equipment all to reduce energy consumption. Do we need a little green super hero? I seriously doubt any of our service technicians would don a cape, actually they would be out of uniform anyway. One thing our guys do know, in this economic time of rebuilding, our customers don't want a gimmick, they want products that perform and can improve their family's lifestyle without costing an arm and a leg. So, no little green super heroes, but keep your eyes and ears open as we will be introducing reliable and affordable products this year that we feel are worthwhile, offer value and save you money... how much more “green” can you get than that? Wishing you and yours a fun filled summer! Shirley Smith Partner
